Reflections of 2007: Please add your 2008 stuff above

At Kinnernet 2007 we will have 2 robotics sessions and a robot building workshop.

Below you can find the details on each presentation.

The sessions are:

Friday after-lunch (in the dining room):

- Remote Linux robot
- Graffiti printer
- RoboNer
- Robokusit (Robo-girl)

Saturday after-lunch (during the Great Outdoors):

- The Great Creature we will build at the workshop
- Humanoid robots show
- Guitar Heronoid

The workshop will be held Friday - check the schedule.

Lego Mindstorm NXT robots

By Eyal Hershko, Sharon Carmel, Roostam Tiger, Ron Yachini, Eyal Shachar, ...

We will have a robot building workshop with 3 (!) new Mindstorm NXT kits and hopefully we will build something really big and scary ...

Guitar Heronoid

Team: GarageGeeks

A robot which plays the PlayStation game "Guitar Hero"
It's not "Deep-Blue", but I dare you to play against it and try to beat the machine.

Remote Linux Robot

Write a program, download it to the Linux-based robot at the other side of Earth and watch the robot executing (fulfilling?) your program  http://76.208.209.163/

Robo-Ner

By Anton Steshin

The robot is called "COBRA" is a small fireman that took part in an international competition operated by Jack Mendelssohn a professor from Trinity College. The robot should find a source of fire in a model of 4-roomed house and extinguish it. The source of fire is a candle. The "fire" may be randomly placed in one of the rooms.

Graffiti Printer

Why work hard and draw graffiti by yourself if you can make robot do it? Not a classical robot, but still counts :)

By Ariel Schlesinger

Humanoids in a show

Robonova, Boiloid, Manoi and may be some more humanoid robots in a previously unseen cooperation (or the other way round) - hopefully we'll have the time to orchestrate the show ... By: Limor Schweitzer, Roostam Tiger, Shy Vardi, etc

For an example, check what RoboNova is capable of:

RoboSapien

I'm bringing my RoboSapien and a hack to 2006 kinnernet (Ilan)

First 2006 Competition Robots

Presentations of a few robots that participated in the First 2006 Israeli competition. These robots shoot balls to a basket hanging 3 meters high and collects ball from the ground (Eyal Hershko).

In the picture you can see the RoboDOS robot of Reshit School from Tel-Aviv (build with the assistance of Didi, Vladimir, Ohad, Gil, Zvika, Yuval).

Building a super fast Lego car with 2 engines (Sharon Carmel)

The Concept

I would like to build a fast Lego car with 2 motors, using the Dune Buggy Lego car as a platform. The 5292 motor is 3 times faster than a regular motor; with 2 motors you got the power of 6 regular Lego motors!!! The dune buggy wheels and chassis will be used as the base for the modified car and the Mindstorms NXT controller will control the 2 motors.

Choosing the best engine (a single engine can run teh Buggy at 12 km/h)

For a complete comparison of all Lego motors click here:

http://www.philohome.com/motors/motorcomp.htm

Choosing the best platform

There are fast Lego cars that can go 12Km/h one of the models is called The Lego Dune Buggy http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=8284&LangId=2057&ShipTo=US

How to combine the 2 engines

1)       Straight forward -> connect the 2 motors to the same gear and set them off!

2)   Using NXT controller

Might need a multiplexer to unleash the power of these engines because the NXT controller does not have enough power.
